Where to file

If your case is pending, submit your Form G-884 to the USCIS district Office, suboffice, or service center that is currently processing your case. If we have issued a final decision, submit your Form G-884 to the USCIS district office, suboffice, or service center that performed the last action on your case.

Initial evidence

If you are requesting original documents from your Alien File (A-File) or Receipt File, did you provide the following? Copies of two forms of identification; Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card; Driver’s license; State-issued identification document; Employment authorization document; Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship; or U.S. or foreign passport.

If you are requesting original documents from someone else’s A-File or Receipt File, did you submit the following? Copies of two forms of identification; Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card; Driver’s license; State-issued identification document; Employment authorization document; Certificate of Naturalization or Certificate of Citizenship; or U.S. or foreign passport.

Proof of the relationship between you and the other person. In cases where they are either deceased or incapacitated, you must provide evidence of a power of attorney, or that you are the executor of their estate.

USCIS filing tips

Your signature on the form must be notarized if you are not appearing in person before a USCIS official. Do not sign your G-884 until you appear before the notary.
